Turrall Extra Long Streamer Hooks provide room for longer bodies on streamer and lure patterns. The current specification lists a 4X-long shank, 1X-strong wire and a forged, light-bronze finish.
Use the longer shank to position the tail, body and head without crowding the eye. Check the gape remains clear after adding a bulky body or wing. Select the hook size for the complete pattern and intended fish rather than relying on shank length alone.
A long shank is useful for an elongated dressing, but it is not necessary for every predator pattern. Compare a short-shank predator hook when the fly’s length is mainly carried by the wing or tail. Sizes and current availability are shown in the selector.
