Blob flies are a relatively modern addition to the fly fishing world, gaining popularity for their effectiveness in stillwater trout fishing, particularly in stocked reservoirs and lakes. Their design is simple yet highly effective, consisting of brightly colored, often fluorescent, synthetic materials that create a bold, chunky profile in the water. Blobs are not designed to imitate any specific natural prey but instead trigger aggressive strikes from trout through their vibrant colors and movement.
