In the heart of England North Devon) is the birthplace of Turrall & Co Ltd. Turrall is its longest established company of fly dressers.Around the 1950s, the art of making artificial flies was well on its way to what we see today, And Turrall was at the forefront of the fly fishing seen in Devon. It was here, Near the Torridge River that Colonel Hugh Turrall founded the company which bears his name still today. Over Turrall’s history, Turrall has managed to get established in the international Fly Tying market of more than 32 countries. Turrall has won The Sunday Times special award for its unique contribution to employment in rural Britain. As well as the Country Living Magazine First Prize for Businesses in Rural areas here the UK. Turrall has won five awards from the trade show of the European Fishing Tackle Trade Association (EFTTEX).
