COCK PHEASANT TAIL
The Pheasant Tail Bead Head Fly, often referred to as the Bead Head (BH) Pheasant Tail, is a classic and highly effective fly pattern used in fly fishing. It's a variation of the original Pheasant Tail Nymph, one of the most universally recognized and utilized fly patterns worldwide. The addition of a bead head to the pheasant tail design enhances its effectiveness by adding weight and attraction, making it even more appealing to fish.
The bead head variation includes a small metal bead at the eye of the hook. This addition serves multiple purposes: it adds weight, helping the fly sink faster into the feeding zone; it creates a more attractive and eye-catching appearance; and it can simulate the head of the insect, adding realism.
