15 HACKLES PER PACK
Partridge hackles are a favorite among fly tiers for creating soft hackle flies, nymphs, and wet flies due to their unique texture and natural coloration. These feathers are sourced from the Hungarian Partridge (Perdix perdix), although similar feathers from other game birds are often referred to as "partridge".
Partridge feathers come in a range of natural colors, including browns, greys, and tans, often with intricate patterning or mottling. This natural variation allows fly tiers to closely mimic the appearance of various aquatic insects.
Partridge feathers have soft, flexible fibers that move naturally in the water, imitating the leg movements of aquatic insects and adding life to the flies.
Feathers from different parts of the bird can be used for different sizes of flies. Smaller feathers from the neck or head are ideal for tiny nymphs, while larger feathers from the back or wings suit bigger patterns.
